What is UX Design ?
In the design process of a user experience, the journey is the destination. To view and adapt the product in such a way that the widest possible range of potential users can identify with the product. The use and operation should not only be intuitive and smooth, but also enjoyable. Only when the user really enjoys using a product are we able to speak of a good user experience. There are no limits to the applications. Even vacuuming the room or setting up a bank account can become an experience rather than a tiresome necessity. How can that be? All a question of user experience.
Interaction Deisgn
Intuitively. If we are asked how the user should use the product, website or app, our first answer is: Intuitively. And we don't just mean the user interface. The whole user journey must be coherent, not too complicated but still functional.
For this first step towards good UX, the simplest methods are almost always the best choice. Pen, paper, Post-it's and off you go. The User and Customer Journey Map almost always offers deeper insights into the process. And only when the entire process is visually displayed do most people realize how complicated and confusing it actually is. |
Fail early
A good UX requires a lot of research and even more failures. If you don't fail often enough, you don't get good UX design. But how is failure helpful? Like everyone else, we learn best from our mistakes. At the beginning of the design phase, one of the goals should be to make as many mistakes as possible to capture the most important do's and don'ts.
That's why we always start with very messy sketches and drafts to get feedback as early as possible. Even if it's only the arrangement of pictures, text and buttons, we aim for perfection right from the start. |
MVP's
The Minimal Viable Product is our golden egg. A minimal viable product, which nevertheless contains all essential functions and elements, is the perfect test object. But how can an unfinished product be an insight into the UX and a source for improvement suggestions? Quite simply. As with a good sauce, you start by putting together the essential ingredients and then add the other spices while constantly tasting. This is how we design good user interactions and, based on this, optimized user interfaces. With constant testing, we add, remove and adjust elements to achieve the perfectly composed UX at the end.
